You want to start by getting their attention. So you could start by saying. ‘how many people in this room would trust a drug addict with their child’ ? Drugs dont just ruin your health they destroy much of what you dont see or take for granted . They are great for getting rid of your friends and any respect you have and good for downgradig your life. Many people think the odd line of coke or a few tokes on a joint are harmless but for many people this leads them on a slow and painful road to ruin and despair this aint bullshit this is real people and you better wise up. Its easier to say no when you havent tried it so dont try it.

I would start by asking everyone in the room if they know someone who has been affected by drug addiction. Every hand should go up. Can’t get more persuasive than that.
Bill Wilson NEVER called substance or alcohol dependence a disease. In the chapter? “The Doctor’s Opinion” in the book “Alcoholics Anonymous” the substance abuser is invited to think in terms of an “allergy” to the substance. This plants the seed of possibility of a change of attitude in the future.
Heroin or any substance abuse is NEVER A DISEASE its self inflicted, and? addicts who use the word DISEASE are sympathy seekers.
Chemical abusers must understand that they have to live differently than non-addicts.
Stop using, get clean while starting formal addiction education (two years, at least). Delete all people and things from your “old” life. As you learn to live again, only let in the people and things that don’t make you impulse-react to seek chemical-escapism. Start a list of “helpful/hurtful points to live by.” Find a disciplined “waking hours” routine. Self-admit, daily, your addictions. ? Live.
it just hit me. i? do? two kinds of benzos and vodka at night. i sleep much? better. the bad part is i feel great now? but what about later
Addiction? is a progressive disease; over time addicts lose the power of choice.
* Yeah other people suffer to and they dont all go off take heroin *
Yep & sum ppl DO. Just cos u and other ppl didnt make the mistake I made, dont make u any better than me or other addicts.
Have seen stuck up ppl like u hating “junkie’s” until their son got caught up in it, and all of a sudden they get understanding.
Typical attitude – I didnt, so other ppl didnt have to either, well other people deal with things diffrently and other people make? diffrent mistakes in life than you made.
Yeah they do youre right, and is that your argument, that so they deserve it, or its their own fault. If you could feel the torture I felt all my life, and then imagine taking something that didnt just take the pain away but made you feel good, I think youd do it too.
Just because you wouldnt do something, doesn’t make someone else wrong if they did. Many addicts have some? pretty horrific stories to tell. I doubt you’d understand or want to understand the pain I suffrered, but I did.
Thanks for the caps, I was? going to ignore your? comment, but I saw the caps, and I thought, this is going to be important, better read it.
1? thing that people need to understand is that your addiction is making someone rich and they dont care about you 1 bit, and if you dont care about yourself no 1 else will, not your families, not authority’s, everytime a heroin addict OD’s its 1 less to make that person that sells it rich.
If you smoke cigerettes do the math see how much you spend a week, then do that with a herion addict and see how much they spend a week, stop making other ppl rich with your addiction.
I accept that it is a logical fallacy to argue that since many believe, it? must be true. However, I do believe that if many believe, that view should be respected.
