Is Marijuana a Drug of Addiction, Is the Bali Teens Lawyer Making a Mistake?

Question by Andrew: is marijuana a drug of addiction, is the Bali teens lawyer making a mistake?
Australia has a 14 year old boy who was busted in Indonesia with around 6.9 grams of marijuana. His Lawyer is planning to argue the boy is addicted to try and get him off , only problem is Marijuana isn’t to my knowledge a drug of addiction its a drug of dependence, two very different things. This effort to try and get the boy off the hook could really blow up in the lawyers face don’t you think ?

Marijuana, altohough not physically addictive, is very habit forming. It could be argued that he was addicted. It depends on how the Indonesian govt. treats marijuana. I hope he gets off thats not even a traffic ticket in California.
