Question by lunatic: Aren’t people scared of admitting to drug addiction or suicidal impulses on Yahoo Answers?
Having seen many serials based on crime investigations, i know that any material on the internet can be traced back to the computer it came from. Am I being paranoid or can the messages posted here be traced to the senders? I mean Yahoo does not disclose our Yahoo IDs in Yahoo Answers but what if it is forced by the law?

You’re right. In the news recently, both Yahoo and Microsoft buckled in the face of government requests that they turn over users’ search records for some case (it escapes me just now). However, google, so far, has refused to comply with the gov’ts request. I’m betting Yahoo will turn over info we post on answers if the government asks.

good point, actually i was woundering about that too, I really wish that Yahoo hid the user ID (actually ebay did that when they started but stoped that after.
