Question by mo_is_bangin: Criminal Minds- Reids drug addiction?
I saw the episode the other day where Reid gets taken hostage and is forced to take some sort of drug. In the end I saw that he took the drugs out of the dead guys pocket or something. Does Reid stay addicted? Is there an episode where the others find out or does he just quit himself? What’s the episode called?

I remember watching that episode – he does not stay addicted but I can’t remember what the episode is called. You may be able to find it on this website.

After “Revelations,” Reid gets addicted to the drug that Tobias gave him, called Dilaudid. He got hooked. He started going to meetings and eventually got over it, but he was addicted to it for a while. It’s mentioned in “In Name and Blood.” In “Elephant’s Memory” he is seen at an NA meeting, and confirms that he is ten months clean. He starts acting weird pretty soon after in “Fear and Loathing” and especially in “Distress.” They kind of skim over it and just make it suddenly go away. I’m pretty sure the team doesn’t directly find out about it… they probably know, but I don’t think anything is said directly… we just know that he is clean now.
