Dont You Guys Sometimes Feel Ashamed About How We Live?

Question by Jp: Dont you guys sometimes feel ashamed about how we live?
Idk its like I make $ 800 a month at my part time job and I see a homeless man and women on the divider with their little sign, I go and buy 20 bucks worth of chik-fil-e (however ya spell it) for them and people in there escalades and 2008 mustang and whatnot just keep driving.
Doesnt it make you mad sometimes that we are all people and we all deserve some extra help (yeah I know we pay taxes to take of this stuff but isnt that a pathetic excuse?) and people dont even drop a dollar?
This all helps me in deciding if I want to go to the peace corps. Just posting this for people to express how they feel about it~

I see what you are saying. But I think that there are people who walk or drive on by and ignore the people they see in need for 1 of 2 reasons. #1 – Fear. They are afraid of what they might see or learn by engaging with the poor. They might see someone they know – or could know if circumstances were a bit different. They might learn information about themselves that they didn’t know or didn’t to face. #2 – Arrogance – they drive by and say things like “get a job” – but what they are really doing is judging people – and what’s worse, they judge without know the facts of the circumstances that person has found themselves in.
