Well, no one in the Government except maybe Bernie Sanders (Socialist) from Vermont is saying we should be socialist. Look up the definition of socialism. Obama is doing nothing like socialism. Their is a PHYSICAL socialism, that you are talking about and a POLITICAL socialism that just helps people.
Social security is SOCIALISM POLITICALLY but it is not a dictatorship take all the money away from people and dictate to them their physical circumstances. That is the type of socialism that the right wing is trying to pin on the Obama administration and it is wrong, irresponsible and actually just an uneducated and backwards way to think.

Hahaha do you understand what you are saying? Socialism spreads the wealth so that the common man or the majority of america will be middle class. America has problems, i will admit that, but going to a dramatic system of government owned buisness and dramatic tax increases is not the answer in this economy. What we need to do is increase taxes for big buisness and taxes for the wealthy and thus lower taxes for the common man. Socialism increases taxes for everyone based upon the money made per year. Many companies would go and put there money into investments or other sorts to hide it. Socialism will not work in america, we are too greedy to give up money. The government is fine the way it is. No country will ever be perfect and we need to see that.
I was in Cuba. Communism in Cuba is only 40 years old. So many Cubans remember what life was like before the Communist took over. Before the Communist took over, Cuba was a middle class country. Not to poor, and not to rich. Cuba had is problems but at least life was okay. Now life is hell in Cuba. Nothing to eat, people are packed like sardines into the remaining places to live. And guess what. There are people over the age of 40 who defend the system. Most people either tolerate the system or are okay with it. Much like a person who goes to prison and then gets use to prison life.
No retreat, no surrender. Never give an inch. Because if you are counting on people to wake up from their slumber, believe you me, they won’t.
That doesn’t happen very quickly, and it should be reversed instead of accepted. Look how long it took the Soviet Union to collapse!
We ALREADY fought for our freedom and created a Constitution to make sure that something like Socialism will never happen. Why should we start over? You go ahead and give up, but get out of the way because many of us are not going to let Socialism anywhere around OUR statue of liberty.
Iris054…. A lot of those services are state and township services, not Socialism. A military is not socialist unless it’s serving under a Socialist government. As far as the rest of the federal government things you listed, fine where do we start.
