Ameya Deshmukh’s NIH Presentation – Ameya Deshmukh presenting his work pertaining to development of a drug for fighting nicotinic addiction at the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), one of 27 NIH Institutes and Centers, on August 10, 2010. Ameya was invited by NIDA after he won the first place Addiction Science Award at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose in May 2010. Ameya’s work was done in Prof. Dennis McKay’s research group in the Department of Pharmacology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees included Dr. Nora Volkow, the Director of NIDA, NIDA Divisional Heads, NIDA research scientists, and OSU’s Prof. Dennis McKay.
