HELP! I Want to Grow My Hair Out!!!?

Question by Paige R: HELP! I want to grow my hair out!!!?
I have naturally brunette hair, I bleached it several times, and it broke off super short, so now it’s brown with blonde highlights, and I have done a Keratin treatment, and go back for another one in 2 weeks, so my hair is SO MUCH SOFTER AND SHINY again!! 🙂 But it’s still SUPER short, like shoulder and ear length in places… I just want to know how to wear it so it won’t break off, and if their is any supplements or tips on it to grow out THICK and LONG (past the middle of my back) and how long it will take 🙂 & It is also curly which doesn’t make it any better lol 🙂

I also dye my hair alot and I’m trying to grow mine longer too. My advice is, if your hair is long enough, wear it up in a cute bun or ponytail. That’s what I’ve been doing and it doesn’t damage my hair. Good luck xx

  • Mallory says:

lots of conditioner and leave in conditioner
dont put it in a ponytail a lot especially when it’s wet as that causes breakage
    no heat or dyes/bleach

The method of styling is not the problem here, but the chemicals that are building in your skin, that’s causing your hair to get broken off so EASILY.

Supplements can do more harm than good. If it is super short & so much SOFTER & SHINY NOW, hair products, and products from GNC will take those away just as fast.

First of all: Relaxers Warning: they’re not permanent, that’s $ 300 – $ 500 each time you get them done. One I responded, she had hers done in March and this is now May when she posted it? It is a billion dollar business, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to ‘abuse’, in this case, cancer.

Google Permanently straightening hair warning, about 7,410,000 results (0.08 seconds) , more warnings during the last months. I’ve been posting about them since 2009. Canada had issued a public health warning regarding Brazilian Blowout and has stopped the distribution of their salon products; Ireland has also issued a recall. ~ Also published in Vogue Feb. 2011.

Despite this federal government warning and months of negative news reports, many salon owners admit they still use Brazilian Blowout and demand for the $ 200 to $ 700 labor intensive treatment remains high. ~ Fox news May 30, 2011

The FDA don’t even approve of them. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality don’t apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, hair loss, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11

Google: MSN “Vitamins Can Do More Harm Than Good.”
According Dr. Melissa Piliang, a dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic. Americans spent an estimated $ 176 million on hair loss products last year, and chances are some of that money was not well spent. Don’t let charming salon owners, seductive ads or fancy gimmicks convince you otherwise.

CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $ 20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here’s an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements. Google: Are Supplements Good For You? About 7,430,000 results (0.15 seconds). THEN Google: Are vitamins & supplements good for you? About 4,250,000 results (0.14 seconds) Some can actually shorten your life!
Google: Hair growth caused other men nationwide in class-action lawsuits. About 1,640,000 results (0.10 second.

Best advice from Hollywood’s well known hairstylist in the 80’s once said: “Keep foods in your mouth and hair products on your hair.”

If you’ve straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: “Foods for Healthy Hair” – Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don’t expect to look like you’ve stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you’ve changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results.

Growing healthy hair doesn’t come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you’re in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you’re eating healthy foods. But when hair isn’t growing as fast, it’s because they’ve been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

Oprah have done that method for over 20 years, She also uses plastic curlers, to tame the curls.
