Maybe but remember that adiction isn”t easily controlled so the person may have been normal but pushed to it by group pressure. so depends of how the person was before. If he was easily controlled adiction controls him, if he was a correct person he may resist it and be saved

Drug addiction IS a mental illness in and of itself.

Uh…Isn’t mental illness one of the symptoms of drug addiction?

  • Kira says:

No its not a sign of mental illness but if you are addicted to drugs your chances of mental illness are greater.

because, people who are addicts usually have a reason to be one. They have been abused, or had a traumatic experience or suffering stress due to something. This means they were probably suffering depression and mental illness before the drugs. This puts them at higher risk of becoming addicted to things. People use drugs to escape life, escape its problems, escape issues, especially those they do not want to or feel they cannot deal with.

So. being a drug addict, I beleive does not automatically make you a mental illness patient, but you may have already been one and you may be at higher risk of becoming one after the fact.
